What is MCS/EI?
Many people are curious about what MCS stands for.
Multiple Chemical Sensitivities
What does this mean, you may ask? A person with MCS has been exposed to and poisoned by chemicals. Their environment has been compromised by pollutants. Many people react differently with skin rashes, migraines, seizure disorders, or pains ranging from pseudo-heart-attacks to arthritis and fibromyalgia. When reactions affect the nervous system, the patient may seem to have a wide range of mental and emotional symptoms. These may include poor short-term memory, confusion, depression, irritability, dizziness, amnesia, panic attacks, or phobias. There are many physicians available to help and many people with similar reactions that are willing to share their time and knowledge with any and all.
What does E I stand for?
Environmental Illness
The Environmentally Ill or Sensitive are people that are unable to tolerate life in a society saturated with chemicals and toxins. They are unable to function in the modern world because their bodies' immune systems are unable to tolerate many of the foods, chemicals, and other day to day items that most of us take for granted. When exposed, the environmentally sensitive react strongly to even the slightest amounts of toxins and chemicals. They often have very severe reactions that can be immediate or delayed, depending on the amount of exposure.
